i just listed these 3 baby/toddler clothes over at my little shop.
the designs might be familiar to you, but this time i thought i would applique them on colored onesies instead of white ones. although i think the white onesies gives a clean and uncomplicated quality to the design (which i like), there's a boldness that i like when using the colored ones.
stop by and take a look!

victory
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
(listen to the whole song here)
happy easter! here's to the best and brightest day of the year!

true love
how deep the Father's love for us
how vast beyond all measure
that He would give His only Son
to make a wretch His treasure.
how great the pain of searing loss
the Father turns his head away
as wounds which mar the chosen one
bring may sons to glory
behold the Man upon the cross
my guilt upon His shoulders
ashamed I hear my mocking voice
call out among the scoffers
it was my sin that held Him there
until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
i know that it is finished
i will not boast in anything
no gifts, no power, no wisdom
but i will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
why should i gain from His reward?
i cannot give an answer
but this i know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
as i reflect on today, i'm humbled that such an awesome God would make such a sacrifice...for someone like me. i'm not perfect. i mess up all the time. i'm prideful. often times i take God's grace, mercy and love for granted. but God still loves me despite all that.
God's abundant love is so much more than i will ever be able to comprehend. his overflowing mercy is beyond what my mind can grasp.
when i think about how much God loves us, i am blown away. it is a love so amazing that it sometimes brings me to tears.
a sacrificial love. a love that's never ending.
never. ending.

my son, you are too precious for words!
it seems like you're changing faster than i can take pictures. we've seen a few smiles from you and heard a few coos. and your little legs are chunking up perfectly. i'll be curious to see how much you weigh tomorrow for your check up.
we love you, peanut! happy 2 months, my sweet boy.

staples from my homeland
for a while, park to shop on 30th and payne was the only asian grocery store i knew about where i could purchase items to meet my occasional indonesian food cravings. it had indomie noodles, bakso, inexpensive lemongrass, nori furikake seasoning, even frozen pandan leaves (which i have yet to use but purchased anyway).
but it didn't have everything. it had my kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) but not in the brand i prefer (cap bango has a much better flavor than the abc brand...even my husband will agree and he's not indonesian). they didn't have my chocolates sprinkles (this is actually a dutch thing that had made its way into the indonesian food culture), though thanks to my mommy she brought some back after her last visit to jakarta. and they didn't have palm sugar, which is usedas a little sweet treat for me in some indonesian dishes.
last september i mentioned something about discovering a new asian grocery store around the same neighborhood as park to shop. we didn't get a chance to really look around at that time and finally made a trip back last week to really check things out.
i am so glad we did because asia food company has an indonesian aisle! okay, it's only half an aisle. actually, it's probably only a quarter of an aisle since it's really only half of one side of a whole aisle. but it's exciting to me nonetheless.
and the best part is that they sell the items which we weren't able to get before, and more!
they even have jasmine tea, which is so delicious and makes me feel like i'm back in jakarta.
i was also impressed with their little bakery/eatery section. i think all the items are made there and reading the menu made my mouth water (side note: you have to pay separately, and in cash, for all items sold in this section). we didn't order a full meal there, but did pick up some cakwe to use for our bubur ayam dinner.
though i'm sure i'll continue to shop at park to shop, asia food company will certainly be another place to get my asian food fixes!

mommy makes everything better
sunday, we said good-bye to my mom (a.k.a. "green lady" or "ibu" to the kids) as she headed back to the west coast after a most wonderful 2 week visit with us.
the kids loved having the extra attention (and sweets) from ibu and to have someone new to play and read with.
i was much appreciative of the extra hands available to hold baby cash when he's fussy (or so i can eat with two hands), cook some tasty indonesian food, and to wrangle the kids when they needed wrangling.
whether it was hanging out at home or cruisin' the hood, every day spent with ibu was thoroughly enjoyed!
bye mommy! see you again real soon. (by the way, the kajang hijau is ALL gone!)
