it's too nice to stay inside (i must get out of the house!)

when you live in the 2nd wettest city after seattle and go through 7-8 months of cold weather, a sunny day must not be wasted indoors. granted it does get too hot for most to go outside, but sunday's temps were pleasant by my husband's standards (don't go by my standards because i think 85 degrees is comfortable and 70 degrees a bit chilly).

after stopping by DQ for a cool treat, we headed over to cahoon memorial park to let emma run around. the play n' bay playground has a fort/treehouse/boat feel to it. it's a pretty decent sized play area, but the best part is that the whole playground is enclosed. i believe there are 2 separate gates for entering and exiting, and the rest of the playground is fenced in. this means your wee ones can run free without them wandering off into new territory. genius!

we took the scenic way home, gawking at all the HUGE homes set up on the bluff right by the lake. one ginormous home even had a tennis court on their property. i'm not really a fan of mansions. everytime i see a large home like that (though they are lovely), i immediately think about how much MORE i have to clean. more rooms to vaccuum, more toilets to scrub. ugh. no thanks.
