since emma's birth, extra time is hard to find. so this is why i just did 4 postings in one night. this will probably be the going trend for who knows how long...

let's bowl!
tyler's 9th birthday party was held at Put-In Bay Lakewood bowling alley. everyone (not only kids but the adults too) had a great time bowling. the cake at the end of the party was delicious-thanks to the talented baking skills of gram!

washington visit
last week we went back to seattle (though it was emma's first time). we got to see old friends and also visit with tyler. we also went to spokane for a few days to visit prasti's folks. emma also got to meet her aunt corrie for the first time while in spokane. emma did awesome during the flight there and back...she slept pretty much the entire flight. we had a fabulous time. we miss seattle (though not the traffic) and it felt good to be back. thank you jeff & maia for your hospitality-we appreciate it!

one month!
hooray...one month old. her thighs are starting to fatten up and the newborn diapers are starting to get tight...growing girl!

it's a girl!
Baby Purdum came 8 days early. Our little Emma Grace was born Monday June 12 at 10:46 a.m. 6 lbs 15 oz and 19" oz. She was born w/ the umbilical wrapped around her neck twice, but other than that delivery was quick w/ no major complications. We are all ecstatic to have her in the family.

parents vs. kids
Last Saturday the Spartans faced their parents in a grueling 1.5 hour soccer game. They played hard, desperately wanting to win the game. It went into overtime with the score tied at 5-5. To the kids' dismay, the winning shot was made by a parent (final score 6-5). Heartwrenching screams came out from the mouths of the children, and fists pounded on the grass. Fortunately, popsicles were generously handed out to them afterwards to make up for the loss.
